Working notes

LDH Act 836 page: Part XIV (Plumbing) of Title 51 Sanitary Code became null, void and unenforceable on and after 2016-01-01; LSUCCC is responsible for state plumbing regulations in LAC Title 17 Part I. LAC 17:I.111 (DOA March 2024 consolidated Title 17) adopts the International Plumbing Code, 2021 Edition, with Louisiana amendments in section 111. State Fire Marshal codes page lists 2021 IPC in the LSUCC. Licensing: R.S. 37:1367-1368 (legis.la.gov) requires board-issued residential, journeyman and master licenses; SPBLA licenses page lists those classes. VERIFIED CHANGE: Act 908 (HB 953), 2026 Regular Session, official Legislature digest at legis.la.gov - abolishes the State Plumbing Board and transfers licensing to the State Licensing Board for Contractors effective 2027-01-01 (certain provisions effective on governor signature 2026-06-12); SPBLA remains the licensing authority at retrieval date 2026-10-31.
