Working notes

87 CSR 4 (State Building Code), filed May 5, 2022, effective August 1, 2022, incorporates at 4.1.b the 2018 edition of the International Plumbing Code. LOCAL-OPTION SPLIT, RECORDED PLAINLY: the State Building Code has force only where a local jurisdiction adopts it and notifies the State Fire Marshal (87 CSR 4, sec. 87-4-7, Adoption by Local Jurisdiction); enforcement is local. Licensing is state individual certification by the Division of Labor under W.Va. Code 21-14: Master Plumber, Journeyman Plumber, Plumber in Training; a separate Division of Labor contractor license with plumbing classification is required for larger contract work.
